How to Find the Best Babymoon Location
By Annie Chambers
There are a few factors to consider when searching for the best babymoon destinations
- How far you are willing to travel?
- Do you want to drive or fly?
- What time of year are you traveling?
- When should you start planning?
- Any health restrictions?
- What’s your favorite past trip together?
- Is the location ZIKA free?
We love to plan babymoons. It’s such a special time for a couple to relax and enjoy time together before the baby comes. Finding the best location is based on myriad factors. We work closely with the couple to determine their interests, and then play matchmaker with our partner properties worldwide to ensure the best experience.
Do you want to explore a new city?
Relax on the beach?
Go to a world-renowned restaurant and try the 10-course tasting menu?
Hole up in a cabin by a fireplace in the snow?
Recently, we helped well-traveled clients frustrated with Zika-free beach destinations. They opted out of typical Caribbean destinations and went to Charleston, South Carolina to enjoy low country gourmet dining, culture, and beautiful architecture. All you have to do is step outside your hotel to see a beautiful garden, historic home, or waterfront view.
A classic favorite is Maui for beautiful weather year-round and stunning beaches. Plenty of great restaurants and lots of hikes if you’re feeling up to it. For a little adventure, wake to see the sun rise or rent a Jeep for the day and drive the Road to Hana. Otherwise take a break at one of the stunning 5-star properties and enjoy the beach for a long weekend.
Personally, I was on modified bed rest and could fly max 1 hour so I opted for Northern California and visited both Big Sur and Lake Tahoe. We took scenic drives up the coast, with lots of bathroom breaks. We highly recommend Post Ranch Inn and Ventana in the Big Sur area for a luxury experience with spacious suites overlooking the Pacific, exquisite spa options and fine dining.
We’ve worked with an avid skier who was too pregnant to be out on the slopes. We set them up in a cozy suite with a fireplace at the Montage Deer Valley where they enjoyed a horse drawn sleigh ride during the holidays.
Many of our clients are looking for wellness options to keep moving, and eat well while they’re on vacation. Couples love Miraval for the spa treatments, healthy and delicious food options, and unique fitness classes. Their Tucson location is ideal weather wise during the winter, the Austin and Massachusetts locations are great for spring and fall.
