New England Summer Trip Planning Tips
By Annie Chambers
Thinking about a summer trip to New England? Check out my planning tips!
I’m currently working on three proposals – and finalized one last night for a 2-week family trip through Rhode Island, Maine, Cape Cod & Nantucket.
New England Summer Trip Planning Tips
– You’ll need to be flexible as availability is already limited.
– Boston will be your easiest airport option as it’s almost equidistant to Maine & Rhode Island and a quick 1-hour drive to Cape Cod area. Tons of nationwide nonstops.
– Ask me about private flights into Nantucket & Martha’s Vineyard!
– Many properties are asking for 50% or even full payment upfront versus 1-night deposit.
– The cancelation policies are stricter than normal, some are 30-60 days in advance. Ask me about travel insurance.
– If you have a week or more in Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, I have some incredible home rental options. I can show you some properties, but inventory is already running low !
– Many of my partner hotels offer house cars. Picture above: Ocean House in Rhode Island has a Mercedes program where guests can take a car out to explore the local area.
– Several of these properties also have a fleet of boats that can take you out onto the water for a half-day trip.
Here’s a sneak of that 2-week itinerary I mentioned:
Stop 1: Cliff House (Neddick, Maine)
Stop 2: Chatham Bars Inn (Cape Cod)
Stop 3: Nantucket Hotel & Resort (Nantucket)
Stop 4: Castle Hill Inn (Newport, Rhode Island)
Stop 5: Watch Hill Inn (Westerly, Rhode Island)
