Trip Overview
Picture sipping coffee alongside giraffes, walking among ancient baobabs, and witnessing the vibrant spectacle of African wildlife. Hannah expertly crafted an 11-day Kenyan journey that delivered all this and more—a blend of elegance, adventure, and cultural immersion.
“This trip was #1 on my bucket list ! On day 3, my husband said “this is the best vacation ever. This is truly a trip that dreams are made of, you couldn’t imagine it.”
Best Seasons to Visit
The best time to visit eastern Africa for a safari adventure depends on the region, but generally, the dry season (June to October) is ideal. During this period, the weather is pleasantly mild, and wildlife is easier to spot as animals gather around water sources and the vegetation is less dense. In East Africa, this season aligns with the Great Migration, offering incredible opportunities to witness herds of wildebeest and zebra in motion.

The Adventure Begins…
Stephanie and Frank’s adventure began at Nairobi’s renowned Giraffe Manor, a luxurious retreat where these majestic creatures casually greeted them at breakfast. They also visited the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the world’s leading orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program. Their time in Nairobi set a heartwarming tone for the rest of their journey, merging comfort with conservation.
Next, they flew to the newly opened Angama Amboseli in the Kimana Sanctuary, where the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro provided a stunning backdrop. This intimate lodge offered exclusive game drives to spot wildlife, including the elusive “Super Tusker” elephants, which they were lucky to see with one of Angama’s expert guides. Angama Amboseli stands out as a Crafted Escapes favorite with its unique design, amazing service, incredible guides, and epic views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
“We had the best guides! They were so knowledgeable and we saw some really incredible things”
Their second safari stop was the beautiful Sasaab Lodge in Samburu National Reserve, which offers an exotic change of scenery with rugged hills, riverine forests, and endemic species like the reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra. Between game drives they visited the local village and immersed themselves in the region’s local culture and customs.
The final chapter unfolded at the legendary Angama Mara in the Masai Mara, where thrilling Big Five sightings and guided walking safaris on the Rift Valley escarpment created unforgettable memories. As photography enthusiasts, they had the privilege of being accompanied by Angama’s resident photographers on game drives. The photographers helped them capture perfect shots and assisted with editing in the on-site photography studio, printing out treasured memories to hang on the walls at home.
This safari masterfully combined one-of-a-kind accommodations, captivating wildlife, and meaningful cultural interactions, leaving Frank and Stephanie with experiences to cherish for a lifetime and as now lifelong Safari enthusiasts.
“We couldn’t have had a better trip – the people, the accommodations, the service, the food. Everything was incredible.”
