Real Honeymoon: French Riviera & Provence

These honeymooners came to us with their hearts set on the south of France. They studied abroad in other parts of Europe, but wanted to dive into the south of France before a family wedding in Versailles. We settled on a self-drive from the Cote D’Azur through the valleys and hills of Provence to Avignon. We searched a few hotels and locations and settled with some gorgeous hotels with spectacular views, amazing dining options, and quaint villages. They did a half day wine tasting excursion in the famous Côtes du Rhône region of Châteauneuf du Pape.

La Chèvre d’Or is located between Nice and Monaco in the cliff-side town of Eze and offers stunning views of the French Riviera, as well as a 2-star Michelin restaurant.

La Bastide de Gordes sits atop the tiny village of Gordes and overlooks the Luberon Valley, in the heart of Provence.

Hotel D’Europe is in the center of Avignon and overlooks one of its most beautiful squares. The house was built in 1580 and charmed the likes of Victor Hugo and Charles Dickens over the years.
