10 Tips to Survive Revenge Travel
By Annie Chambers
Travel after the first 2 years of COVID is actually been deemed ‘revenge travel’ due to the staggering rate of travelers. Flights are delayed, baggage is lost and rental cars are scarce.
Here are our top 10 tips to help you survive (and still enjoy) travel!
Tip #1: Consider VIP FastTrack/Airport Greeter
Tip #2: Hire a Private Driver From the Airport
Don’t rely on taxis and ride share services. You’ll avoid long lines and you won’t have to deal with local currency upon landing.
Tip #3: Get travel insurance
Travel insurance will cover trip delays, interruptions, and lost baggage. With so many extra variables, you won’t regret it.
Tip #4: Check Your Passports Well in Advance
Be absolutely sure your passports are valid and won’t expire for at least 6 months beyond your trip dates.
Tip #5: Packing, Luggage and Air Tags
In a time when lost luggage is occurring at record rates, Air Tags are invaluable! Packing light and just bringing a carry on is even better, however that may not always be possible. If it’s not, make sure your carry on has 3 days of essentials strategically packed.
Tip #6: Try to avoid flying through major hubs
Europe, (London, Amsterdam), New York and Atlanta have been especially difficult this summer.
Tip #7: Get to the Airport Early
Especially when flying international, we recommend arriving at the airport 3 hours prior to your flight.
Tip #8: Get an Airport Lounge Pass
A lounge pass will allow you to relax comfortably in the airport. Gates Fill up fast and you could be there a while.
Tip #9: Book all dining reservations in advance.
Don’t wait to make reservations! When we are planning concierge services for our clients, we make dining reservations for our clients immediately after booking hotels.
Tip #10: Be kind and Tip Well
Remember how hard everyone is working, and be flexible when the unexpected happens. Traveling can still be full of fun and joy even though it’s more complicated right now.
